See if you can get a better profile pic. From the pics it doesn't look as long as an apollo shark should be. It looks a little bit shorter. Better pics would definitely help out.:D

I think I found what you might have. I was really studying your pics and I can see a big difference between what you have and what I have. Yours is definitely an "apollo shark" type sp. I believe what you have is named Luciosoma pellegrinii. If you look at your pics, do you see how the line that runs down the middle of your fish just ends right before the tail fin?(see pic below) The one that I have the line runs down the middle of the fish and then continues into the upper part of the tail fin.(see pic below) This is pretty much the first time doing research on a fish, so hopefully it pans out. Enjoy!:D

BTW, here is the link that I used to tell the diff between the different "apollo shark" sp.

Is it some type of barb?
Depends on what you mean by "barb." If "barb" means all cyprinids, then yes. Apollo sharks and barbs are both cyprinids. So are carp, for that matter.

From the pics I would also guess a Luciosoma sp., need better pic.

Sorry...should've been more specific. I meant some type of cyprinid.
