Yeah, calvus are hunters, they're not too keen on algae grazing.

Watch the other fish in size comparisons, if they are too small, they could be eaten.
I'm not quite woried about the others. It's more him, I have some faster growing venestus, peackocks, mbuna, a hap, and some others I'm worried about eating him first, might have to get a 30gal growout. And he is the smallest fish in the tank. I'll try and get some pics up.

Dang, oh well, I watched'em feed last night and he got a few pellets.

I was referring to the calvus being eaten...

Oh, no one's big enough. . . yet, if they get over 7" when he's still under2" I'll try and get a 30 gal breeder, but like I said, there is a lot of hiding places.

You've already won half the battle with the calvus; my guys and my orange face compressiceps won't even take dry food which makes it even harder to give them what they need with other fish in the tank. I've had calvus almost starve to death because they were refusing high quality pellets and freeze dried. These are the guys I'll trade back to the fish store for proven eaters....ya they are slow growers but ones that will take a varied diet seem to grow quiker

I've honestly never had any issues w/any of them eating. I've kept yellow, white black calvus, and black, goldface, and wild firefin comps. All have had no issues feeding. just slow slow growers.

I agree. My wild caughts took right to eating pellets. Everybody loves fish food pellets at my house, even the dog.

What kind of pellets are you feeding them? Some of mine won't even take the Newlife finiky fish formula; the one with the picture of the Orangeface on the front, lol
