I have a couple of Black Congo Calvus that are spawning. It is the first time for me and them....when do the eggs hatch, and when should I remove the shell? I have a tang community tank so don't want to leave them in there! Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure on how long it takes to hatch, but you can move them once the egg sack is gone, and they're free swimming, maybe 2 weeks, plus or minus a few days. Get ready to wait, they are slow growers so it will take awhile to get any size. Also be aware that larger fry can eat the smaller ones, so you might have to divide them as they grow.

I know quite a bit about fish, hence the name, but this is my first Calvus spawn. I am wondering how long it takes for the eggs to hatch and the little buggers to become free swimming. I need to move them out of there before this occurs
