Hello
I am a cell phone "photographer" lol but miss 90% of the pics as do not have zoom lense and things like turtles, parrots I can't get a pic of.

I wanted to ask if anyone can suggest a comp camera that is basic , has zoom lense not hard to use?

Zoom lense is my main thing and easy to use as just take pics while fishing . I don't know much about cameras.

Thank you

do you want a point-and-shoot camera or a DSLR? how much are you looking to spend on a camera. i got a canon xti as an entry SLR camera. there are plenty of great lense choices. i love the camera and have learned alot since i bought it.

Olympus Stylus 1030sw is one of the nicest point-and-shoots on the market. It's about 300 bucks.

The best point and shoots are Canon G9 and G10 when it comes out.

I prefer the first, it's waterproof and shockproof...weatherproof too. It's a nice camera.

There is a picture of mine. It's a good size.(bout the size of a deck of cards) Don't pay attention to the huge thing in the back.

I really wouldn't try to get a 'budget' camera as they don't last at all. They break easily, take bad pictures and just don't do what you'd like them too all the time.

I use a Canon Digital Rebel XTi most of the time as a serious amateur photographer. Sometimes if I am feeling masochistic I go with a Mamiya C330. But that is NOT something I would recommend. The XTi is really nice but a dSLR of any sort is a lot to carry around everywhere.

I'd really like to have a Canon Powershot G9 which has a lot of the nicer semi-pro features of a dSLR but the small size and portability of a point-n-shoot. You can use a G9 just like a point-n-shoot but if you want to learn more about photography, you can really grow into a G9 which would set you up nicely for a dSLR.

Yes an aim and shoot type camera . Easy to use .I didn't think of a price as long camera is good not cell phone "quality" pics .

Thanks

lol yes waterproof is a big thing forgot about that. It could get wet by splashing etc. Unlikely but why risk it.

I am going to look up the Olympus Stylus 1030sw as sounds good and point and shoot with zoom lense is my type of photography as for most part need it easy .

Thanks

Most of the camera terms and things they come with is another language to me .
I am going to look up the models listed here the previuous pic with silver water proof camera looks good as need it simple and water proof is a plus but will look them all up.
I am a "pro" cell phone pic taker lol

With a cell phone your forced to get up dangerously close and miss 90% of reptile and bird pics.
