simple is great.... ive made table saws out of tools in much more dangerous dumb ways..

Did you use something to fix the gutter guard in place against the liner or is it just bent in there?
 
It's just bent in there. The way gutter gaurd likes to keep a flat shape, it will stay flush against the wall like that indefinitely. You can get a whole roll of it at your local hardware store for 3 bucks. A must have for the DIY closet.
