kind of a noob question but never gotten a real answer
I have a Florida gar now or (spotted Gar) hes 11 inches long and has had a tank by himself for a long time with no other species gars in it. And was wondering if he would fight the other gar if i decided to add one more?
thanks

yep yep, i never had any problems

got 4, used to be 5

i sure hope so or itll get messy in my tanks hehe
i have 2 juvies and they like to swim/stay side by side

I just added a second Gar to my tank today, my original is about 13 inches and the new one is about 7, very small in comparison. They have been snuggling with each other since I put him in. So it seems to be working. (although my trial period has only been about four hours.)

What you perceive as snuggling is likely a dominance display by one of the fish by shadowing the other.
