On a tight budget because making 4 aquarium for my monsters . That's why I'm planning to build 112 gallon aquariums 72x18x20 with 6mm glass. Can the glass handle the water pressure ?

No matter what i would not use 6mm glass on that size tank, you could brace it but then it would take alot of bracing.
What monster fish you keeping in such a small tank anyway, monster fish as in ugly ? as cant eb monster in size.

ABSOLUTLY NOT. 934lbs of water is no joke....it is the better part of half a ton.
Hats off to you for building your own tank, but please use thicker glass. 10-12mm at least.

Thanks for the replay guys. Well I know I should go for 10mm 12mm but its out of my budget. I have a 12 feet aquarium built by 12mm glass, that's for my jumbo size Asian arowanas because we all know how strong they are. But this one's I'm planning to build its for fire eel, parrot fish, Indonesian tiger fish, tiger oscar, flowerhorn,Stingray so no worry about fish breaking the glass. If I go for 10-12mm then I can only build 2 tanks instead of 4. I've seen 6 feet aquarium made by 6mm glass. But my concern is how long it can hold on or is it okay (durable) for small fish like which I'll be keeping?

i dont now the full specs on the 12 foot tank but even has a vey thin 12mm glass IMO, also the new tank is not big enough for even the ray unless it is a young one, small disc.

this is a wind up?

The fishs will be just fine because all will be very small size. If they get too big I will just sell them or make bigger fish tanks when I would be able to make more free space in the basement. So, should I go for 6mm glass ?

As in all replies big no way to the 6mm glass, how big are the fish going to be you are getting for the new tank?
how long have you had the asian red in the 12 foot x ? x ? tank again 12mm i would worry on with a monster Aro.

I think the general consensus is that for the length and height of the tank 6mm is too thin, and, it seems the chart above supports that. I'm guessing if they had 20" explicitly listed, they would have 9mm on the low end.

The other point I think worth pointing out is the type of additional bracing that's added in addition to glass thickness. From what I understand, I know glass tank builders would not go without additional Euro brace and top cross braces - especially for taller tanks. That's also considered in calculating the safety factor (or I guess "coefficient" as they say).

My store bought cheap 10g has 6mm glass.
I can't believe someone with giant expensive fish would risk losing them to tank failure....and the fish breaking the glass isn't what you have to worry about...it's physics.
Build two tanks properly for now and save up for the other two to be built properly later.
If you are in such a hurry that you can't wait on proper glass/expense, you didn't plan right.
