Can a Angel and severum cross breed?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here's another idea to throw against the proverbial wall as it were. How about bringing the Angelfish and Discus back into the CA/SA section and giving Festae & Umbee the vacated space. Seems logical and would be a very busy section in light of the abundance of threads about them.

They seem to be extreamly popular fish. I have no interest in....lol.

LOL. I think the problem with merging discus is that they're relatively "specialized," I think you'd get a lot of input from guys who read a couple threads on discus and then become "experts."

I don't think that many serious discus people frequent MFK - they're on simplydiscus or some other place.

Yes please - all festae and umbee threads in a separate forum (echo chamber)

The problem with doing something like that is the popular species help draw people to the section and maybe some of the less experienced hobbyists will research the less popular species in the section. I have been in the hobby for quite some time and yet there is often species that come up that I don't have much knowledge of, some of which are very fascinating and beautiful. Popular fish aren't any less interesting either just because they are common. There are a lot of umbees and festae and they do command more forum space than many fish, but I still love seeing them just like I enjoy seeing the less common fish that many people may not deliberately seek out in another section.

What are you all saying about the Generals discus?

They lightened up with that nonsense SD and AFII are not a threat to MFK. They are species specific sites and definitely have their place in the hobby with a good following and some very knowledgeable members. I use both but still consider this my "home" site.

I'm a co-owner at SD and I post here more than I post there, so it's silly to me that we'd all pretend other sites didn't exist.
