Hey I was considering a black ghost knifefish for my 90 gallon. It would be with an African knife that is already in my tank. Would this work? I would be aiming for one around 4 inches as that is the size of my a-knife

Should be fine depending on the dimensions. However, BGKs tend to be quite territorial and with an ABK already established, vice versa.

You may want to check the compatibility of the two types of Knifes? I am not sure of that point.

I have a BGK that's a few years old now and while he lives in a 125, I'm convinced he'd be cool with living in a 30 long if he had to.

Keep in mind that although these fish rarely move during the day they are extremely active at night- at least mine is. Mine is 5'' and I wouldn't put him in anything smaller than a 55. Although it will take them some years to reach this size, I have seen some 20'' specimens and I wouldn't keep one in a 90 myself...
