all 7 of my cichlids which include a Cuban cichlid, jag an dempsey are in a holding tank were they will be for about 24 hours or so. its tight ther isn't much room so I have them in the dark so that they are more relaxed. the temp is at 75 to slow them down and basically stop them from being so aggressive. my question is can they tolerate 75 degrees for 24 without any health problems? the temp didn't go to 75 fast it was a gradual thing so there was no shock. someone tell me if this temp is too low please

75 is fine , short term:)

The average temp of Lake Managua (where the name managuense comes from) is 77'F, so mid 70sF is a perfect general maintenance temp.
I agree with Crazy mike about the tetracanthus, they prefer higher temps.

You people must all be kidding saying "short term" is okay.
I keep my centrals and South Americans in my house without any heater. The temperature on average is 70 degrees. This has been going for 6 months and there have been no issues at all.
