So I have a male and a female mbuna ob peacock hybrid. If I want to breed them can I have these 2 fish by themselves? How large of a breeding tank? I have a bunch of rocks and a few caves in a 10 gallon currently. Will this suffice for the time being or will they fight to the deaths. There is a divider in the tank rn and they keep on trying to reach each other and it seems aggressive. Also how can I confirm gender? I know one of them is female (as she was holding for me and just released fry) but is the other one a male? The first pic I attached is the male. Thanks!

Female Malawi are safer if there are many females with one male. It would be risky to leave a male in a tank with a lone female unattended.

Yes. Malawi are harem breeders. Ideal is one male and four or more females (number of females would be higher for an aggressive fish like Auratus).
