I've got a 265 with an 18" bass, 12" pacu, and a 6" red pike. I'm looking into dropping the water down, adding floatation decor, and adding a turtle. I don't have much turtle experience. I was wondering if it would be okay to add a turtle to the mix? I do not want to loose my fish.

This does not sound like a good idea, what sort of turtle are you considering?

I tried keeping a red ear slider with a red devil and a sagittae, they were fine for awhile. The sagittae was so personable that it would be dancing in front of me for food and the turtle would sneak up on him and attempt to eat him. If a fish is a little sick, small or weak the turtle will take advantage of the situation. They're bad mf'ers. Just my experience, I wouldn't try it again. Even though it did look really, really cool.

Do you have a plan for the pacu? Generally fish eventually become turtle food, the fish are stressed slightly just being in a cage adding something that's going to nip at them is just going to make it rougher.

I did not have a specific turtle in mind. Probably a soft shell, but after seeing some of the comments I probably will be staying away from the idea of a turtle

The plan for the pacu is to stay in the aquarium. Why?

I think only option would a frt. if you got the space. Need a lot of filtration.
