As for the jumping, I'm pretty sure you can't change its nature... so you gotta put weights.

I had to sell mine sadly he got to be too big ={ about 17" but he had a great shape and coloration so I got 375$ for him
yeah..the arow's only like..6ish inches right now..the newts are..5 inches?...and about the jumping out of the tank...man..i better strap the top down or something haha..you think puttin' 10lbs weights on my tank cover...on both sides..totallyin' 20lbs..is too much stress on the top part of the tank?..
the arawona would definitely eat newts at that size or atleast kill them or die trying unless its really docile
