Everyone sais male, and I don't really know, but I think it is more than likely male. The only thing that throws me off is the color. Most males are grey-silver and this one is brownish in the backround... a trait of most female Dovii's. However, there is a awful lot of spangling, and at small sizes, many fish look mote like females in coloration..... but the spangling shouts, "male!"
