can any one give me information on this fish

it was sold to me as a jack dempsey/texas hybrid. in my opinion they were beautiful looking fish so i bought two, and i wanted two cichlids that would grow large. does any one knoe how it will act or even if its a hybrid at all. to me it dosnt look much like a pure bredd jack. any help would be greatly appreciated

I can definitely see the texas in it. Do you have him in a good tank? I bought a texas a little while ago and he had some stress bars before he adjusted to the tank.

i have two of them in a 55 gal tank. there only about 1.5 inches now, there is a 7 inch pleco and small african cichlid in with them. i have places for them to hide, they seem to come out and play for like 20 or 30 min then hid for an hour or more.
 
i cant wait for them to grow larger, excited to see what colors they will get. any advice on keeping them, first time really keeping both a cichlid and a fish that will grow large.
 
i actually bought a wolf fish a lil while back and i was not happy with it anymore. so i took him back to the lfs and asked about selling him back, they offered me a trade. they were marked for five bucks each and i paid fifteen for the wolf fish, i lost five bucks in the deal but it didnt bother me.
 
kinda weird, just today both fish have started changing color in there fins, i dont know the right terms for each fin, but its the two main fins they use for swimming, in both fish these have turned a yellow color, is this normal.
