yeah it definitely looks like punctatus. so has anyone kept these before? I have a 180, 6x2x2 and was looking for a catfish that didnt get too too big. is 16" likely to be a wild max size or feasible in captivity? anything else i should know from peoples experience? Thanks a lot guys

I had a couple of P. guttatus cats a couple of decades ago. This species and P. punctatus were the only species available then. Mine reached about 8". One of the 2 had a habit of digging out a tunnel at the front of the tank under a piece of driftwood. He dug the tunnel to be larger than his body and facing the current flow of a powerhead. At feeding times, he'd start swimming in place in the tunnel and cause a greater flow around him than the powerhead offered. He'd then snatch anything flowing through the tunnel as his feeding method when the lights were on. After dark he rummaged around the tank with the other cat.

sounds an interesting fish... I think im gonna get one. cant really pass it up at the price! Unless anyone comes up with an alternative id by wednesday and decides its gonna be a monster! thanks again everyone

Slipped my mind but it could be an Anaspidoglanis macrostoma too.

I got one of them today. the shop owner/manager was there today and that is what he said they were. he said they grow from 8-10 inch, but 10 is likely just wild size. Actually he said thats what he thinks they are, seeing how they came in without even being ordered. Thanks for all the info :)
