Can anybody ID this fish.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Get that flowerhorn some cobalt aquatics color enhancing flakes to mix with his diet. Ours looked like that. A month after adding the flakes. We have a double row of markings, blue and red dots on all fins and a nice red underside. Huge improvement.

That mystery fish looks like a flowerhorn / texas hybrid. It could even just be a very low quality flowerhorn.

I'm pretty sure I know what this is, did you buy it as a Red Texas from Petsmart? If yes then its a low grade Kamfa Flowerhorn. If no, what was it bought as?

Everyone see bars and automatically jumps to Convict, Mayan, or Festae hybrid which it almost never is.

Thanks for the info, where did you get your flakes from?

I got it for free from a friend, I think he had bought it as a Festae hybrid.

I'll definitely grow it out and see how it turns out!

Here's what it will look like at about 3-4". I bought this(one one the left) as a RT from Petsmart. Funny, the little guy to the right of it(one with pearls) has more potential for a RT, also bought from Petsmart but labeled as JD. lol. All good though, he only cost me $5.
