Bought for 80$ as a tea cup. But from my understanding its kind of like buying a mystery serra piranha. Its to young for most to I.d correctly.

So what species is it and how big should I expect it to get reletivly quick.
It has like a 4.5" to 5" disc.
Please and thank you:)

You should expect about 18" tops and depending on how much he/she eats will dictate rate of growth but usually a few year........what size tank do you have?

Why would you buy a ray if you don't know what kind it is? It's a retic that is in need of some help as the hip bones are showing and it has a dent in the head. This is a sign it hasn't been eating or has internal parasites. Retics are one of the worse beginner rays to get if you haven't had rays before. They don't get huge if you can even get them to live for an extended period of time. Lots of times they require live black worms to get them eating and it's sometimes hard to get them to eat anything else but worms. Not very convenient if you have no immediate access to this type of food.

So far so good but the only way I've done this well is a large tank and THOUSANDS of dollars in filtration, sterilizers, safety heaters ect. Not to mention their endless appetite mine love chopped earthworms and rosey reds but it is a constant effort and ridiculously expensive
