Can anyone ID these fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I ended up with the fish about a month ago when I was floating the river. Some idiot had tossed a box of empty beer bottles on the side of the river. I pulled the box of bottles out of the river to throw them away and saw these little guys. (I didn't even notice the fish till I got up to the parking lot) So I decided to tank them home instead of letting them bake in the bottles in the trash can. I keep the water cooled to about 65 degrees and they are just eating machines. They have doubled in size in the last month.

No other help from me other than be aware of local collecting laws.

That last pic looks like an Otocinclus to me:confused: Got anymore pics?

:( Again, sorry about the bad quality pics, they are taken with my phone. I really, really need to get a digital cam.

I was thinking similarly as well. We'll need more pics to verify that it is indeed an otocinclus.

The only think that keeps me from thinking it's an Otocinclus is that they seem to be schooling, they don't ever stop and suction to anything. I'll try to get better pics, maybe borrow someones dig cam. I'll post more pics when I can do that.

I got 5 ottos, they are a schooling fish to be bluntly honest. They mostly roam around at night...that is when they're most active.
