Fairly rare...They can be hard to feed compared to other knife species...Probably the rarest "featherfin" knife...but not super expensive. We usually sell the 4-6 inches for 25 bucks. Awesome find though!

It's an African Papyrocranus afer, we sell em as pom-pom knives, or Arowana knives.

It'a a Papyrocranus Afer. Very secretive knife fish.

VERY secretive VERY hard to photograph I have 2 one's about 13in. the other is maybe 15in. VERY aggressive, mine seem to make torturing other fish a GAME they aren't to hard to feed ALL will take live but my accepted freeze dried krill pretty easy and now after almost 2 yrs. in my tank eat ANYTHING they LOVE cut up market shrimp

Don't they get pretty big? So apparently they have a pretty slow growth rate if they are only 15 inches after 2 years.
