Can anyone Id this Pike?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
good call bigs i did not even notice that I was just looking at the head and thought that looked wrong for a wolf. But exactly right a wolf only has 1 dorsal. I posted that pic so everyone could see the head and mouth was wrong for a wolf and now they can also note the single dorsal. and again good call.

Oh I get ya, posting that pic makes it easy for a beginner to tell the difference between two fish that look A LOT alike...Good post man.

Thank, that pic did make is clear it wasn't a wolf. Don't know much about wolf fish so that was my first thought when I saw it. Anyone have an idea on what it actually is?

looks like a Blue Pike(which is a walleye)

Dosn't look like a walleye to me. It's definitely not any type of cichlid with the two dorsal fins. I would guess some type of goby, maybe Butis sp. or Glossogobius sp.

Not too many pics of all the different species but here are a couple for comparison.

Butis butis

Glossogobius aureus

Monster Fish Master is the only right here. Its not a walleye, any sort of pike and definatley not a wolfish. Its a 100 percent crocodile fish. They can tolerate slight salinity. Like lots of cover so slap some driftwood or some kind of cover. Will eat live food as well as flakes. Theyll get beat up on by other cichlids so dont mix. Would go great with a semi aggressive communty as long as the other fish arent big enough for him to swallow.
