Feeder Fish

My cousin found this fish on the shore of his private reservoir in southwestern Oregon this week. He has only planted bass, trout and bluegill in his 2-3 acre pond. However, no telling if someone may have let fish go over the years when he was not there. He does feed the trout a commercial fish food to increase their size for fishing, and perhaps this fish has benefited from the calories and ongoing feedings.

That being said, he thinks it may be a piranha of some sort. It's a big fish, close to 21" long and he estimates that it weighs close to 4 lbs. I've posted the three pictures to the general gallery:

If anyone can help identify the fish species, it would be greatly appreciated. Since sending the photos out, a friend told him that he's seen several of these cruising by the dock.

Thanks much for your help.

looks like a dead black pacu

Well i guess thats the mystery fish's no longer mystery. Its sad that its common to see the dumped pacu many times.

Thanks everyone for your quick responses. Living in rural Oregon, this isn't a fish my cousin comes in contact with. I'm sure he'll be pleased to know what's lurking in his pond!
