Can anyone identify this Fish??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
These guys are harmless imo. Get large and may eat the smallest fish, but mine pays no attention to its tankmates.

That’s what I’ve been reading. Right now he/she literally pays no attention to his tank mates. It didn’t even care when my EBA chased out a flower pot. Lol it came right back and started sifting through the sand again.

I had to move mine because it was being abused by a leporinus. Didn’t fight back, just kept swimming away and it was getting bad. In its new tank it lets a small rainbow cichlid push it around.
I will say that it has eaten a small danio though (my fault, I put it in at .5 inches and the sev was 5…right in the top when the only things they know that goes in are food), so do keep an eye on him with small tetras as he grows. He pays no attention to bite size kribs now though.

I will definitely do that. Hopefully it won’t eat any cardinal tetras before I can setup the 75 gallon. For right now the severum, electric blue Acara & Festivum are all small. With the Festivum being the biggest for right now they all leave each other alone except the occasional chase here and there but nothing serious. I hope it all works out cause the Festivum bullied the Bolivian ram to death and attacked the angelfish as soon as it left the bag. He doesn’t seem to care about the other 2. I’ll keep watching them though.

I wouldn't say so, gold severums are more expensive than Gold Gouramis.

But you can say goodbye to those plants when he gets bigger.
Those plants are fake. Lol I have a Festivum and read they devour live plants so I went with fake plants instead. Plus I’ll be moving him the Festivum and EBA to bigger tank in soon.
