He is a baby so his true colors have not come out ..so i will wait until he is more mature and then update with pictures before i totally know what he is.. He could be a carapo banded knife or he could be Gymnotus tigre or one of many other species of unknown rare knives.. if any one would like to take a shot at quessing or have any info to offer me ..i am all ears.. He is about 10 inches .. and his tail is as long as 5 inches ..{included} . :D :D

Seen one of those before, I'd post this in the knife subforum and im pretty sure someone knows or have one there. I am pretty sure it is part of the CK family

I guess you don't want me to answer as you're probably looking for comparative responses.

No Not true not true..i want you to answer .. but i did not want you to go out of your way .. i know you have so much going on.. please don't think that.. I do not need comparitive answers ..i just need one definite one.. and i need to know how to take care of him, what to feed etc.. please phil do not think i was going past you.. you are the best!!! Liz;)

i like ur nife

I appreciate everyones reply.. we are working on the ID since their are numerous Gymnotus .. and this ones pattern is just different.. then a carapo.. banded type..does not mean it isn't one but theres a good chance it isn't either..well i was sent all the info i needed on care etc.. so that was my main concern and later on when he matures a bit we will be able to see what he is when his adult patern and colors come in..thank again everyone. Liz:)

I remember this pic.

It was there a few days back. I had posted the ID info on this banded knifefish.

it seems you probably didn't read that thread. I checked the replies are still there.
