I remember this pic.

It was there a few days back. I had posted the ID info on this banded knifefish.

it seems you probably didn't read that thread. I checked the replies are still there.

Thank you ..i did read the thread but it is still not conclusive that this is a banded knifefish.. the pattern is different.. but this is still a baby .. any way thanks again..;)

Red Devil thats very nice that ur very concern about ur fish/es! :)
but imo, knife fish/es of diff kinds of knife fish would probably have the same care and maintenance. ;)

Disagree... Aba Aba, and Glass Knives DEF are different, Youll be fine with your banded knife as long as hes eating and he has a good home..

I knew that they have similiar care but in the Gymnotus family there are many many types that are different in the mouth size, their aggressiveness etc.. the gymnotus carapo gets really big and is really aggressive where their are others that are shy and laid back and stay smaller.. I want to know everything i can.. about them..;)

well if he is a gymnotus carapo he should be happy that there are baby guppies swimming all around him ..if he isn't this kind then he may not have the aggressive behavior or the ability to hunt down guppies and may need a slow moving feeder fish.. i am watching and though i have not seen him eat he seems alot more alert and swims.. and as you say they can all be just a little different with in the general care ..so you really do have to get into specifics to be certain.. ;)
