i have had a litle 'revelation'. i have decieded to not include a pike in my set up. i have also decieded to not include a sev.

so i am now torn between a Jack Dempsey, Salvini and a green/blue texas cichlid.

any ideas?

i dont know that a JD would work, necesarily they like to be on the bottom for the most part, digging through rocks and what not, you wont have a happy dempsey that cant have a cave and is forced to swim upwards.....plus they like to feel like it is their tank if its a 55.... it always depends on the fish tho......


i would say start with what you definately want to put in the tank (what you want to be the main attraction).....
then go from there, try to get some information from snakehead owners too, look at what they got in theirs, cichlids may not be the best route in this case, but just be patient get your killer and go from their

also if you planning to upgrade eventually look into FW datnoids, i dont know whats available over there but they are sweet and are good with bichirs, they grow really slow, but arnt real agressive to other fish, but are one heck of a predator....but again look into them, get what you want, have fun, most suggestions are just trying to save u money and hastle

i'm not trying to knock others advice but i think thats the soundest reply i've ever had, thanks

the problem is there are soo many fish i want to keep i have whittled it down to my favourites. (listed last post) and there are many others that simply won't fit in a 50G!!!

will have a look on the snakehead forum, thanks.

dats are looking like an option...
