If I keep a Channel Cat in a 75 Gallon tank. Can I also keep a Bullhead?

Will they fight?

Is one more territorial than the other?

Has anyone successfully kept them together without conflict?

(I am aware of how big Channel Cats get)

Are Bullheads aggressive?

Or are Channel Cats more aggressive?

both are too big for a 75g. Don't do it. Just out of curiousity, what is up with the :headbang2 next to mussolini's name?

What kind of bullhead? Some stay smallish (for an Ictalurid) and could be kept in a 75 if you keep the water sparkly and whatnot. Channel cat definitely way too big for a 75. In a (much) bigger tank, I'd say go for it.

i agree with rjmtx but yeah bullheads are small enough for a 75 i think

they will get along until they are too large for the tank, or the channel gets big enough to eat the bullhead

Well my Channel is only about 8 inches now. But when he outgrows his tank i'll try to sell him off to someone who has a bigger tank or I'll just give it to my lfs , and they'll be glad to take him.

Yesterday they were selling a 17 inch albino Channel Cat for 40 bucks, by next week it will be gone.

As a former employee of a LFS, I'll say that "glad to take him" is just friendly customer service. We used to get all kinds of large fish in and never turned them away because their next stop would be the lake or river. Dumping oversized fish on stores is a burden more than anything because they can hang around for months, eat a ton, and require lots of maintenance. Also counting on someone to buy a "white elephant" of a fish and really give it a good home... well... it doesn't always work out that way.
