Ive read that they actually go blind from the current they discharge. Not quite sure where I read it at though, so umm take it with a grain of salt....

this topic reminded me of the "Fear Factor" episode where contestants vying for the cash had to move them from tank to tank by hand. never realized they really packed that much of a punch (thought it was strictly just sensory).
