Can Fish Bite Their Own Fins?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
New theory, what are the chances her trailers got caught in the power head and ripped by the impeller? They were definitely long enough to get sucked into the power head, thoughts?

That's probably how mine did it..with the power head LOL...I have two..one at the top of the tank and another one closer towards the bottom on the other side and he used to always swim up and down on that side of the tank.

River (gt) has a vendetta against one of the power heads in her tank and is always pulling and pushing it off of the wall and trying to move it (never works lol) so I'm wondering if her trailers got caught in it at some point during one of her arguments with it..

I might wrap some filter floss around the power head as well just in case. She's such a pretty girl, I don't want her being beaten up if I can help it. :D

Oh man...my RBP's knock mine out all the time. I have a magnetic mount that's strong AF, there's no moving that thing BUT they always manage to knock the power head out of the cradle while the mount is still in place. I'd come home to a bare tank on one side and sand all over the other cause the power head's still on and blew it everywhere.

Yeah...I would take some precautions. I mean, my FH's fins grew back but not as long. They weren't the same after that.

May I ask how much difference there was before and after and how long it took for them to grow back? I'm just wondering what to expect. :)

It was quite awhile ago but I want to say a little under a month? It was just the very tip that didn't grow back...
Sweet, thank you. Hopefully she recovers most of them... Either way though she's still awesome. :D
