Can fish choke?

​In my Oscar tank, I have a Pictus Catfish. As such, I add a couple of sinking Catfish tablets, however, my Oscar tries to eat them even though they don't fit in its mouth. It's scary to see the tablet sticking out of my Oscar's mouth because it seems like it doesn't have room to breath. It's really stubborn so whenever the tablet falls out, it just tries and swallows it whole again.

Does this mean that my Oscar is hungry and isn't being fed enough to the point where it wants to eat my Catfish's food? Oscars seem to be hungry all the time, so that might not be a part of this issue.

How should I go about feeding my Pictus Catfish without the worry of my Oscar choking on its food or eating it?

I Think you are ok, usually fish choke eating something stupid like other fish. I had a 5" large mouth bass choke and die on a 5" crayfish once.

fish can choke, however its harder for them to choke on a pellet since it can break down in its mouth. Its meaty foods that pose the biggest choking hazard.

most of my predator fish haven't seemed to have much in the way of a gag reflex. the oscar especially, he'd eat until little bits of food were coming out his gills.
as far as I can tell, as long as they can spit it out if they want-they're fine. if it's stuck and it can't go either way-you've got a problem.

Lmao! Today I had a Lmb get a sunny caught in his throat, while I was reeling him in! Lol I was like WTF! some guy fishing next to me was laughing histerically.

My channel cat tried to swallow a Congo tetra and started choking on it so I reached in and gave him a nice wap on the belly and he spit the Congo right out. Both fish have been alive and well since. And the catfish hasn't tried to eat any fish since
