Can fish & fry go a few days w/out food?

The adults I wouldn't worry about, you could also invest in an automatic feeder for the fry, not my favorite devices but it could feed them at least once/twice a day and it should last a few days.

Hello; I had need to use automatic feeder some years ago. I was gone five days a week for ten months at a strech. The auto feeder worked well. The type I used ran on a clock mechanism and used a AA battery. The battery would last several months.

I would suggest setting up such a feeder some days/weeks in advance as there were operational issues to be solved with my units. First is to find a dry food mix that works so as to reliably drop and not clump. The amount of some foods is harder to adjust than others. I also had to move the first units a bit as I had issues with dumping food onto the cover glass and interference. All in all they worked well once they were adjusted. I had them run for up to three months without needing to change a battery or fill with food as I did allow them to continue to operate after I was back home for good.

Wanted to thank everyone for the feedback. I was able to get someone to feed/check on my tanks while I was away. The most time they went between feedings was about two days. No problems. Thanks again for ideas & experience.
