If you get big tiger barbs they will be fine, 2 inch long and tall at least.

Maybe a Senegal Bichir. But there could be aggression. If you got an ornate you would have a better chance with compatibility.

My barbs are abt 2 inch same with convicts and firemouth except 1 3 inch convict abs the jd were abt 5-6 inch for male and abt 4-5 inch female
Given the size difference, I would give it a miss. They will take over the tank, giving the rest of the fish a hard time. It's not really worth risking your current stock in favour of the JD's is it? If they begin to breed I shouldn't imagine many fish will be left.

+0 to this... Bichirs would eventually destroy all of the tiger barbs.He asked "what can I add" so i recommended some fish that he could add.
You could add a female texas and lb 4 /b cons are the toughest fish ever I've seen them take 4 inch wolfs no problem
