I think my tiger barbs are actually the most aggressive fish I own.

I mean what other fish would attack your hand (they do this and have--I think--broken the skin slightly) given the proportional size difference between them and a human hand?

They seem to have totally cowed the fahaka they share a tank with into submission. He warily keeps his distance from them. Pretty hilarious.

lol.. i must agree Odessa are pretty sweet barbs.. Im planning on designing a semi aggro com tank for our living room with roseline's. saw some adults at the lfs... talk about a wow fish.

Huge fan of barbs (even though I don't have any right now) because as stated above, they go so well with so many diffrent tank types. Last type of barbs I had were "Red Glass Barbs" they were nice looking and constantly swimming but eventually turned into lunch. Can't wait for my Acara's to pair so that I can setup a new community tank.

I do like Odessa's as well as Denisonii's but my next Barb type will be 'Puntius' rhomboocellatus (Snakeskin Barb) after seeing them in person at a fish store by one of my jobsites I realized that I was going to eventually have to get some.

I love pentazona barbs. As well as cherry barbs, my first tank was full of cherries...

Barbs are all I keep and have had many monsters before. They are active never hide colorful plus you can keep other fish with them. I will take a barb anyday over a hide all the time cichlid. (jack dempsey and grammodes come to mind).

I gotta agree my tiger barbs are some nasty little cusses they were the first fish I bought and was going to do a community around them. That failed they have their own tank now.
