I put a little strainer from an old powerhead that fit perfectly into the bulkhead. I also have this, but it worries me with restricting flow.
I will probably switch to at least a 5.5 gal. Ideally, a 10-15 gal. hex would fit into the same area nicely. My only concern is using a glass tank and finding a 1/2" hole saw for the bulkhead. I guess I could go with a bigger hole and have my LFS drill it.

It seems drilling glass can be pretty difficult. Theres some videos on youtube that show the process but right now im at school and cant get on youtube to post the vids. Search on there but if I was doing this Id either get someone else to do it or just skip drilling glass and use plastic.
My lfs drills glass for me so I'm not worried abot that. It all depends if he has a 1/2" bit, which as of Monday, he did not know where it was at.
Tank got upgraded to a 5 gal. but the snails got chucked because I needed the tank for some fry. Once the fry get moved, I will get some more snails and see how they do.
