The answer was very sensible, just not overly informative. He did highlight the most troublesome species in the mix though.

I doubt the sev's would be able to handle the aggression of a jag or texas. I am sure someone, somewhere has had it work ... but overall tis a very bad idea. I have never done it, but I have read about alot of people having issues with a GT and JD in the same tank. Their shape is close enough that they seem to consider each other rivals.

Can't speak about the africans though.

Your severums will most likely get slaughtered sooner than later. And if they survive, they will definatly not be looking good at any point in time.

The fact that you were assumingly not aware of this, raises another red flag in my book, when you attempt to mix these highly territorial and predatory species.

By what exactly? by the Jag? the Texas, JD and 3 of the Severums are already adult sized and i have had them together for nearly 2 years in a 100g, i m simply putting them in a bigger tank.

So i assume you mean the Jag, the Jag and GT are both currently 3.5" so i have no clue how it will react until its in the tank with the Sevs/Texas.

I did post hoping for sensible opinions on my idea, not sarcastic short responses.

Is it cool around here to try and act funny instead of being helpful? if so, cool i'll jump on board and start doing it to other peoples threads.

The thing is, sometimes you will receive less than expected responses, due to the fact that the information you are looking for can all be found by simply typing in the search box.
These threads and similar are abundant, and there is a new one every day. It gets tiresome writing out a novel on this and that so many times, so in the end, we still try to be helpfull, but many of us will start responding in less words.

Sorry but thats what the forums for, if you dont like questions, leave.

Alright.

Good luck with whatever decision you make.

i would lose the jag and texas and maybe the gold saum but that is just my thought. my texas is very aggressive at around 10" and my gold saum is 12" and lately trying to fight me out side the tank, then there is the jag i don't have one but it will be around 12", so thats 3 large aggressive fish.
i think a tank with just the severums would look great they can achieve a good size, slower growing but can get large. also are you trying for pairs with the severums ?

It sounds colour full. my personal preference is not to mix african with sa/ca but thats just me. i would put the Electric Blue Jack Dempsey with the severums and lose the blood parrots and do a nice african tank.
once again this just what i would do but they are your tanks and don't know till you try, learner as you go.
