RD. looks like you just ended the discussion, very nice information there and I know everything I need to, thanks a lot!

I guess that you missed that, woofy? Ditto to you, everlastace.

And you two have contributed what exactly to this discussion???

BTW - I never took any of this personally. Why would I, they aren't my fish? people can feed their fish dried rabbit turds for all I care, just don't come on to a public forum & attempt to tell me that those turds are providing optimum nutrition to fish kept in captivity. And if you do, you're probably going to get clued in. Get used to it. Mods don't like my comments I guess they can ban me.

The only reason that I even bother to respond to these types of posts, is so when someone that is new to this hobby comes along, many times those that are simply surfing the web and are not even members of MFK, those hobbyists will get some actual facts, and some common sense applications regarding this subject. That way when some idiot comes along & states that they have been feeding dog food to their fish for years, and actually consider that some kind of controlled study, or actual science based research, hobbyists can read my comments, weigh all of the facts presented, and make their own informed decision - instead of just taking everything posted by someone with a 5,000 post count on MFK as the gospel.

Peace out

Let's just bear in mind that respect begets respect. If this is how you treat your peers, don't think you will get the reception you want. Thanks.

Let us not destroy a thread because of people's manner to post.

We all know Neill, we all profit from his vast and most often substantiated info.

He rants like an angry Neapolitan Mastiff, but never gives up explaining.

No point in constantly challenging the way he does it, imho.

I'm not saying I don't appreciate the information you give, you are a food expert and I do learn from you. BUT why do you get so mean and nasty about it? As you said, they're not your fish, so why get all hot and bothered instead of simply informing?

It's the little comments that you sneak in that are designed to make those of us with questions look like dummies that we would like to see subside. Again, you are very knowledgeable and I do appreciate your sharing of that knowledge. And as helpful as your answers so often are, the nastiness makes newcomers hesitate to ask questions for fear of being unjustly flamed. And if they don't ask, they will definitely not learn.

Mean & nasty? WTF are you talking about? I think that perhaps some people are just a wee bit over sensitive. Do I need to end each sentance with a smily face? :)

I'm not looking for any kind of reception, nor am I here to to make new pen pals. Like usual I'm also the only person that took the time to explain in great detail why this type of feeding regimen isn't a good idea.

Sorry for upsetting the status quo, next time I'll let someone else explain it.

RD, I have no problem that you offered your inputs and I appreciate it. It's all part of the learning process. However, I have been following this thread quietly and thought that how you answered Woofy was not acceptable to me. Whether the queries seem stupid to you or not, at the end of the day, you are driving away the members from sharing any more concerns and inputs they have that could have served as new eyeopeners to the discussion.

Again, I do enjoy the information you give and appreciate the time you take to give it. I'll just learn to take the bad with the good.

What he emphasized was the unnecessary inclusion of snide remarks. Not every one of us thinks, feels and behaves the same way. This could have destroyed a healthy discussion.
