In the wild your fish would never eat a warm blooded mammal so I would suggest against it.

They wouldn't?

So if a small mouse were to fall in the lagoon a Jag lived in the Jag wouldn't show interest in it?

If a warm blooded mammal died and it's body fell into the water a Jag wouldn't try a few bites?

I agree and understand that mammals wouldn't be a large part of a Jags diet, but you said "never"... and I just can't agree with that...

Yet I do agree with the general mood of this thread that while we, as humans, consider steak a wonderful 'treat'... it's not a good 'treat' for our fish...

well put

I wouldn't do it. Most fish lack the ability to digest mammalian proteins efficiently. And besides, there are many other better treats out there to choose from. My jag goes nuts for any type of insect I drop in his tank.

Thanks 4 the feedback had a lot of steak leftover from a bbq but I guess the only place the steak is going is my stomach

Also, it can clog their digestive tract. Raw is okay if it is clean and safe, but once cooked it becomes difficult to digest and pass.

A MOUSE MAY FALL IN THE LAGOON BUT THE QUESTION WAS ABOUT STEAK. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT A COW WILL GET EATEN BY A JAG. I AGREE TO FEED WHAT THEY WOULD EAT IN THE WILD. ESPECIALLY WORMS , SNAILS, SALAMANDERS....THEY LOVE THEM. GOOD LUCK.;)

More crucial...a completely cooked cow would likely never fall into the water.
