Can i feed my monoculus kangaroo meat?

If they cant digest it they will typically hurl it back up. Alot of people use beef heart and liver, I dont see this meat being much different than beef heart. Since you dont intend to use it as a staple it shouldnt hurt. A better choice would be bits of fish filet, im sure you can find some kind of cheap fish at your local market.

It would be okay once in a while as a treat, but red meat isn't well digested by many fish. It helps that it's very lean. I would give my fish some elk meat every once in a great while if I had enough extra.

Of course you can feed em with roos meat. Just rememeber to keep a tight lid on your tank, you will have super jumping Cichla LOL!
HaHa you beat me to the punch, or should I say 'jump'.I dont really see a need to feed them roo meat even as a treat,I mean I have heard of beef heart through the years and I never tried that with my fish either.Like someone mentioned earlier about the fishes digestive system and what it is designed to process, there is a small range of food items that these fish consume in the wild just stay within that range.

^^ yeah im totally happy to feed them the standard diet. I just considered the roo because it was so high in protein. Thought i would run it past the more experience cichla keeper on the site. :D

I would avoid feeding that all together, and use shrimp, fish meat, krill, and other standard fish fare. If they don't eat it in the wild, or something similar, I don't feed it.
