that is an AWESOME set-up dude, i just checked out all your photos and that is one beautiful tank man GOOD JOB!! one question though, how did you seal the bio tower so that water from the pump wouldn't come shooting out the sides or front? or did it not need any more work than just drilling holes for the drip tray and bulkheads? (kind of off the thread topic i know but interesting all the same :) )

Thank you Sarah88 :)

The water from the tank flows into the top of the bio tower and goes straight down through the 3 drawers via lots of holes in the bottom of each drawer, no water actually leaks out of the sides....just luck I guess :D

oh ok and then you have the return pump in the sump part? that's pretty cool, im really wanting to build a nice big plywood tank but think im gonna wait till im somewhere more longterm (though may be going into the army so wouldn't be anywhere long term after that haha)

Yep, there is a 1500gal/hour pump is in the sump and pumps the water back into the tank after it has passed through the tower.

Building a plywood tank is very hard project, but very much worth it once it's complete and running.

black convict i have one i had it in my 90 i took it out and put it in my brothers 20 long it was really agressive towards a couple of my discs and everything else they like caves to hang out in i used slate and rocks to make them works great

Thanks for the info YAMAHA.
I have a large homemade cave/tunnel in my tank that my pleco likes to hang out in. So far all 6 convicts have either not found the tunnel or choose not to use it. They are mostly hanging around the driftwood and my plastic weeds.

Also, after a closer inspection, all 6 convicts have NO red on the bellies :D
