nothing else in the tank just him

I had 1 RBP in a 29 once he didn't do good because they are a schooling fish. I added a couple of RB pacu to keep him company, he seemed to do a lot better after that. I wouldn't put just one in a tank, but it depends on the type of pirana.

there are different types of piranhas, which one are you trying to get?

i have 1 RB in a 30 gallon tank ( 29g ), seems to me hes thriving, i feed him beef heart, krill, haddock, shrimp, and other fresh sea foods. i have a 55g filter, and aqua clear powerhead

i've had him for 3+ years

a WIMPLE ''piranha'' is not even a true piranha. its a Genus - Catoprion ''Catoprion Mento''
the maximum size is approx 6 inchs making it great for a 30 gallon tho!

Its better to have 1 Pygo in a tank alone then it is to have 2. You should always have 1 or 3+ as far as Pygos go. There would be a lot of better choices to put alone in a 30 gallon tank. It is likely that you will end up getting bored of him or wanting a larger tank so that you can have a shoal in the end. They tend to not be that great of fish solo in a tank as they look very bored/depressed. This is personal experience and I ended up going the route of moving towards a shoal. I used to have 1 10" RBP in a 40 gallon but he wasnt very active and I started feeling bad for him. Now I have 6 and 4 RB pacus.

i had a red belly in a 25, but it didnt do well at all. Had to give her back to the fish shop. They need to be in a group really so you would need a big tank
