Can i keep a convict cichlid and a jewel cichlid together? in a 29 gallon

Should workout since they are both on the high end of the agression scale. Both can really shell it out and hold their own.

To me, this is an argument against it working. I understand what you're saying, and in a bigger tank this would be a better argument, but in such a small tank I feel this would turn into a war until only one was left standing.

This COULD work, but I wouldn't advise putting a full-grown Con in a 29 with a full-grown jewel.

i ended up getting 1 con 1 firemouth and 1 rubberlip plec
con is 1.5" FM is 2.5" RLP is 3"

I think the FM is a better choice in this case than the jewel. Good luck!

i keep a FM w/ a convict and tbey do great. fight a little bit but not too bad. if the convict was male like my FM id be worried about fighting tho. my FM is a little badass
