I have a small aro right now and i wanted to add a datnoid toi it. Both of them will eventually go in an indoor 2000L pond. Im scared because I heard that dats are very aggressive. I don't want the aro to get hurt. What do you recommend, should i get one?

What specie of Arowana? If a Silver I suggest growing out until atleast the Arowana get to 203.2 mm in length. The Datnoid would need to be comparable in size big enough Arowana couldn't eat it. I personally never kept any other specie of Arowana.

I have kept dats with an aro. Great combination.

They should not be significantly different in size.

I would not say that dats are aggressive.

Why in a pond? Both aros and dats are best viewed from the sides. Dats especially, in a pond, you will hardly see them.

Aquariums over 6 ft are too expensive. I built a pond for $400. I'm saving up to buy a big biberglass tanks with viewing panel for them

Agreed on most points already made, though it will come down to the individual fish and how it views other fish I can recall only hearing of dats and Asian aros not getting along.

Yes, it worked between my Asian arowana and datnoid. Both attacked and claimed territory at the start, but settled after about 2 weeks. I don’t know what kind of arowana you have, depends on both your arowana and datnoid’s temperament.
Midwater Midwater is correct, why get a datnoid in a pond? It’s not a good fish for pond stocking, no one does it because it would be hard to see the datnoid in the pond, and would be hiding at a corner most the time.

Yeah I know these fish don't look good In ponds but that's all I could afford. A big enough aquarium would have costed me $1000 approx. I built the pond for $400

I applaud your effort for caring enough to provide proper housing for the Arowana and Datnoid. Large aquariums are expensive and there other members with Arowana in ponds.
One day Ima get a huge fiberglass tank. One day?.
