No. It is a bad idea to mix anything with softies. they are generally very aggressive. Also, the possibility of your red-ear nipping at the softshell and damaging it is high. I would advise against it.
No, softies are very delicate and also very aggressive. Not only could the turtles attack each other, but even the slider climbing on the softshell and scratching it can lead to a deep wound and infection.
Surely the aim of keeping exotics in captivity is to simulate their natural habitat. These turtle species are from opposite sides of the globe, housing them together is a terrible idea.

NO, completly bad idea, your softshell can easily kill your slider. By the way what kind of giant softshell are we talking about? Because for some of them you need a HUGE pond to keep them confy in adulthood, all for it self as they can kill big fish, I shure hope you can give it that amount of space.
There is well more then one giant species of softshell that may be available to you. And last time I checked the proper comon name for none was chinese giant, gess that is some trade catch frase. Can you post a pic? But anyways that doesant inviabilise what I already stated, shure hope you have a huge tank/pond to keep him, you will need it in the medium term.
