Can I keep...?

Consider that even if you got big shrimp like the african filters they would be toast once they molt and turn soft, if they're not ripped apart right off the bat.
Same for crawfish and other inverts.

And IME most plecos, even the ones that tend to persist on algae mainly, love shrimp.

Most fish love to snack on shrimp. My betta even tore apart a large bamboo shrimp bigger than him and was quite proud of himself, displaying it at the front of the tank for me.

i sometimes buy ghost shrimp for my polys as a snack

Are the ghost shrimp and cherry shrimp easy to breed? I've been trying to convince the missus we should get another 5 or 10 gallon for shrimp. She might be coming around to it...I hope.

I'm not sure about how easy it is to breed cherry shrimp i've heard it's pretty easy, but defiantly breed cherry shrimp. ghost shrimp are mainly Breed as feeders and often die a couple days after they are purchsed. I have bought 20 ghost shrimp about 10 times and not any of those time did any of the shrimp survive more than 2-3 days (in their own 20g tank)
