can i mix seachem prime with API stresscoat?
im switching to prime because i have a small ammonia issue with a tank having to recycle. i bought a bottle of prime but still have a huge unused bottle of stresscoat.. if i have already dosed the tank with prime and then later notice torn fins, can I add some stresscoat?

if this is not possible, i will be selling the bottle of stresscoat.

tyvm for your help

I've never used them at the same time but have used them sequentially (i.e. one water change was Prime, the next was stresscoat, the next was prime)....without incident.

I use Melafix for torn fins. And I've used it with both :)

you may, however the only difference is that stresscoat contains aloe. this will assist in the healing, however you can just add some salt to the tank to get the slime coat stimulated on its own, depending upon what your stocklist is. as for the ammonia, i would suggest doing water changes more regularly to help speed up the process of getting rid of the ammonia. ammonia spikes tend to point to not having enough filtration, overfeeding, lack of water changes, and often a combo of all mentioned.

No reason not too. Just dont use stress coat with purigen. Also its worth noting that Prime has a much better stress coat affect than API stress coat the aloe is basically a filler and does not benefit the fish a great deal in my experience. I say stick to the prime.
