Can I put a House Gecko with my male Green Anole?

I know of a few people that keep some really amazing mixed species exhibits. One of the most spectacular was an elephant trunk snake, fly river turtle, anoles, and a west african green mambas. It was about 10 feet high by 6 feet wide and three or 4 feet deep and was set up so that the bottom 2' were water for the FRT and such. It was also set up in a way that he could take care of most of the animals without ever opening the cage. If I were rich, I think all of my tanks would be mixed species like his. I will have to dig through my old pics and see if I can find it.

Sounds awesome! i'd love to see some pictures

i don't have the House Gecko any more, believe it or not, the temperature in my room went down to like the 50's at night and even though the cage top is insulated with aluminum foil, it UNDERheated... It was alive when I woke up, so I put it unde the heat lamp, but it was dead when I got home from school :( Lesson learned...

Yeah, I would really reccomend getting a UTH for your herps. I remember you telling me that the leo gecko has one but don't the other herps just have heat lamps?

Anyways, RIP house gecko :(

sorry to hear that. Live and learn though.

That sucks. :(

Don't you have an UTH or something running all the time?

Just on the Leopard Gecko. Both tanks' lids are insulated inside and out with aluminum foil, which had always in the past kept the heat in at night.

I was reading this thread and couldn't help myself but to comment. I usually stick to stingrays.

I actually kept a house gecko with a green anole once. The gecko won. More agressive feeder. More aggressive on the heat stone. The anole seemed to wither and die

Well I think it would be a wise investment to add an UTH to your tank so this doesn't happen again. :)

Yeah, I usually don't suggest species mixing, but I've seen anoles and house geckos mixed a lot, and to be honest, we will let them mix at the shop I work at, but we've never had any issues. The anoles will hang out on the plants and the house geckos pretty much stick to the cork bark and driftwood. If it was something with a high aggression level, or something with a big size difference, or obviously different habitat requirements, it'd be a different story. But with these two you're probably safe.
