Hi, so I went to a quarry and asked for fish safe rocks. Knowing that some rocks can be fish safe but it affects the pH and stuff. The person said they put this rock in their ponds but just wanted to ask to make sure I wasn't killing my precious fish. (It is also tropical freshwater) thanks!

If it’s what I’m thinking of, it’s safe.
You can test to see if it will affect your Ph by putting some vinegar on it. If it bubbles or fizz it contains calcium carbonate and can raise Ph.
You can also place a couple pieces in a bucket of water that you know the Ph and check it to see if it changes.

It's what I have in my tanks. And I've never had a problem, if its blue slate( which it sounds like) it's pretty inert.
