I would take a minimum of 5 discus and raise them separately. If they are so cheap, they are either very small and need extra care to grow properly (read: not a community tank, bare bottom and lots of water changes) or already have a problem in their growth (in that case there is nothing else to be done anymore).
I know for sure that if you grow out your discus properly, you will enjoy them much more.
