??? Can I put my Ornate in my Planted 120 ???

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has successfully kept large ornatipinnis bichir in a planted tank. I have heard it is possible, but I dont want all my plants to get torn apart. Thanks in advance for responces! I have attached my tank's photo.

I also was wondering if I could keep angelfish and geophagus with him?

from my experience with polys and plants (limited exp btw)..

they don't actively shred plants... they are just "clumsy" and will run into them (or through them). they will be swimming nad will crash land in the middle of a plant.

Yes they don't eat the plants if they are looking for food might pull them up. but if u want Geophagus as well the sift through sand so also pull the plants up. If the fish it to big to fit in the poly mouth it wont bother with it.

planted tanks are actually the best for birchirs IMO. they love the plants but i havent seen any tear any up.

There is already Geo's in my tank; they dont uproot because I have the plants' roots intertwined in egg crate weighted down by rocks.

Ahh ok then the polys wouldnt pull up the plantes either then. i have 2 BBY Endli in a planted tank they just hide in the plants

cool, im gunna try it because I do not want to sell my ornate but hes getting too big for his other tank
