Polys love planted tanks they won't rip up plants at most they will up root a small plant or two they also do great with less aggressive fish like Geos as long as nobody is small enough to be eaten angle fish can work with polys to but some of the more active bichirs will nip at long finned fish ornates will be fine though

At my lfs they have a 15" ornate that they claim has killed several adult discus! Is this normal because I was considering combining my discus with my ornate but now I am scared to even house him with my geos or angels
Doesn't seem normal to me, although I have heard of the odd ornate with killer tendencies, most will ignore anything that doesn't fit in their mouths.
Thats good to hear. I have never seen mine attack anything bigger than himself but he is only 6 inches. Too bad polypertus aren't 100% predictable
My first thought was that the angles would get messed up. I dont have an ornate but it seems like everybody likes to beat up on angels since they're slow and have such long fins to nip at.
